Intense Love - Chapter 85
Chapter 85 – Zhou Shiyun’s Birthday
The next day, Zhou Shiyun went back because something came up at the hospital while Su Jinbei went to her scheduled TV appearances.
Su Jinbei would be very busy during this period. After shooting two commercial films, she flew all around the country to film other things. And during those recordings, the topic of her fiance was brought up every time. Some friends in the entertainment industry even sent messages to congratulate her…
On this day, she flew to Guangzhou to attend a business gathering of a jewelry company. She had originally planned to just go around and show her face quickly, but she unexpectedly ran into Xia Lu as she was about to leave. After separating at the restaurant, the two made no contact with each other.
Although they didn’t contact each other, Su Jinbei was aware of her activities. She had changed her agency some time ago and finally received several good scripts.
Xia Lu also noticed her. The two looked at each other across the crowd of gorgeously dressed people. After a while, Xia Lu gave her a nod, opened her mouth and said a few words.
She was too far away, Su Jinbei couldn’t hear what she had said. But from reading her mouth, she had said, I’m sorry.
Su Jinbei smiled and shook her head.
“Hey, what are you doing, smiling at thin air?” Someone suddenly came in and patted her on the shoulder.
Su JInbei was startled and turned back to see Shao Suying standing beside her.
“Why are you here?”
Shao Suying snorted softly, “This is my family’s company.”
Su Jinbei quipped, “No wonder you’re loitering around here. Did your brother finally let you go out to play?”
Shao Suying glared at her, “Why would you mention that?”
Su Jinbei chuckled softly, “Go home early, don’t stay outside too late.”
“ Hey, hey, I didn’t peg you for the type to care.”
“That’s because you’re my Baby Zhou’s sister.”
Shao Suying shivered, “Baby Zhou… I really don’t know how Second Brother can stomach this nickname.”
“Stomach?” Su Jinbei said matter-of-factly, “He loves this nickname.”
Shao Suying snorted, “Hey, I’m guessing you’re going to go look for my Second Brother after you’re done with work today.”
“Not yet, there’s something I have to do tomorrow still.”
Shao Suying narrowed her eyes and said, “And you say you love my Second Brother. How could you not accompany him on his birthday?”
“B-birthday?!” Su Jinbei was floored, “When is his birthday?”
Shao Suying said angrily, “The day after tomorrow!”
As soon as she finished, she watched Su Jinbei reach out her hand and stroke her head. Her saccharine sweet voice travelled to her ears, almost making her stomach curl. She cooed, “Good girl, how sensible of you.”
Done talking, she didn’t even wait for Shao Suying to react before she hurriedly gathered her dress and walked away.
Shao Suying was frozen in place for a few seconds, “Su Jinbei!!”
Su Jinbei really had no idea when Zhou Shiyun’s birthday was. This was also because she was really forgetful when it comes to dates so her brain only contained a few select people’s birthdays. Moreover, they were both very busy recently and didn’t call each other much.
That evening, Su Jinbei asked He Di to buy her a flight ticket for the next day.
“Jinbei, didn’t we agree that you’re going to Director Yang’s gathering to discuss the trip the day after tomorrow? If you’re leaving tomorrow, when are you planning to come back?”
Su Jinbei sighed and patted He Di’s shoulder, saying meaningfully and heartfully, “Didi, tell me, which is more important, work or love?”
He Di rolled her eyes, “Tone it down on the PDA.”
Su Jinbei smiled as she answered for her, “Love, that’s right.”
He Di gave her a blank look, “So?”
Su Jinbei twirled her long hair in her fingers, her enchanting peach-blossom eyes sparkling, “So I’m not going. I’m going to devote myself… to love.”
“… Stop making so many excuses to avoid work!”
Excuse? How could this be an excuse?
Su Jinbei gleefully flew to the city where Zhou Shiyun was.
She was taking this ever so seriously.
After arriving home, Su Jinbei opened the door using the keys Zhou Shiyun had given her. But upon entering, she discovered the house was empty without a sign of life.
