Intense Love - Chapter 86
Chapter 86 – Guizhou
Su Jinbei put down her luggage and called him, but strangely, she couldn’t get through even after placing several calls. Su Jinbei thought he was in the operating room and called Lin Qingwei.
“Xiaowei, are you busy?”
The line was silent for a while, “Jinbei?! Su Jinbei?”
“It’s me.”
“Why do you have my phone number?!”
“Ah, of course I stole it from Zhou Shiyun.” Su Jinbei asked, “Where’s Zhou Shiyun?”
“Ah?” Lin Qingwei’s cheerful voice came through the phone, “Didn’t Senior Brother tell you? He went to Guizhou.”
“Guizhou?”
“Yes, our hospital opens up free clinics in poor mountainous areas every year. This year Senior Brother proposed going to Guizhou so he’s the one leading the team.”
Su Jinbei blinked her eyes in confusion. Zhou Shiyun proposed it? Guizhou… He mentioned before the friend who influenced him to become a doctor lived in a small village somewhere there, could that be it?
“Jinbei? Jinbei?”
“Ah, I’m here.” Su Jinbei said, “I just called him, why didn’t he answer?”
“The signal over there’s not the best.” Lin Qingwei replied, “I’m going to go there tomorrow, do you have anything you want to say? I can relay it to you.”
“I don’t have words for you to relay… but I have a person to be relayed.”
Lin Qingwei’s confusion could be heard, “?”
Lin Qingwei’s team was the follow-up unit, their main purpose was to bring medicine over.
After getting off the plane, a special car came to pick them up.
Everyone got on the bus and drove to the destination. Presently, there were five people in the car: two doctors, a nurse, the driver and a… Su Jinbei.
“Excuse me, are you really Su Jinbei?” The young nurse sitting in the front seat finally couldn’t curb her curiosity and turned around to ask.
Su Jinbei took off her mask and gave her a friendly nod.
“The real deal~” Lin Qingwei said, “Lailai, you’re new here so you don’t know, Su Jinbei was admitted to our hospital before.”
The nurse named Lailai laughed awkwardly, “Then, is it true that Su Jinbei and Dr. Zhou…?”
Lin Qingwei replied, “Didn’t you watch the news? Of course, it’s true.”
Lin Qingwei turned his head to Su Jinbei. “Jinbei, I bet you don’t know this. Ever since Senior Brother appeared on your live broadcast, many patients in the hospital have recognized him.”
“Will it affect his work very much?”
“Not too much. After all, with Senior Brother’s poker face, no one would dare approach him.”
Su Jinbei looked out the window with her hand supporting her chin, “That’s true.”
The young nurse turned her head to look at her from time to time. Along the way, Su Jinbei chatted with Lin Qingwei while admiring the scenery. Time passed quickly. At three o’clock in the afternoon, the car finally arrived at the base of the mountain.
“It rained yesterday so the road is in a bad condition. It’s dangerous to drive up, I think it’s better for us to climb up,” the other doctor said,
Young nurse Lailai looked at the muddy ground, “H-how long will it take?”
“It’s not too far, maybe half an hour.”
“That’s fine, let’s carry everything up on our backs.” Lin Qingwei looked at Su JInbei, “Jinbei, are you alright with that?”
Su Jinbei got out of the car, “Fine with me. Xiaowei, let me help you with something.”
“No need, no need, we brought things for exactly three people to carry.”
Su Jinbei glanced at Lailai. She was petite, yet she had a big bag on her back and another one in her hands. Su Jinbei took the bag she had in hand, “Let’s go.”
Lailai was a little overwhelmed by this unexpected favor, “S-Su… Jinbei, let me do it.”
“Let me help a little. You still have a big bag on your back.”
Lailai quickly thanked her, “Oh, right. Your shoes…”
Everyone looked at Su Jinbei’s shoes. Ten-centimeter high heels…
Su Jinbei coughed lightly. She was in a rush so she put on high heels from force of habit.
She didn’t expect the road to be so damaged.
“It’s fine. I can handle it.” As she was talking, Su Jinbei walked forward. Her high heels slipped into the mud, changing color instantly.
“…”
Lin Qingwei and the others watched the glamorous celebrity Su Jinbei walking carefully on the mud. It looked inexplicably apocalyptic.
Lailai sneakily whispered, “Dr. Lin, doesn’t this scene remind you of a TV program?”
“What?”
“X-change1…”
