Chapter 1390: Two Doors

“Elder Yu, can you not talk about something so brainless? Why do I need the medical notes all for myself? I can copy it and give it to you, it’s the same. As for the personal notes, you didn’t even mention it last time, for what reason do I have to give it to you?” Lin Yi looked at Elder Yu with disdain.

“Male thief, don’t force me!” Elder Yu clenched his teeth as he looked at Lin Yi.

“Force you? I asked you before and you said that you only came for the two items. We had an agreement, are you going back on your words?” Lin Yi imitated Elder Yu, “Senior, don’t force me!”

“You—” Elder Yu opened his mouth as he glared at Lin Yi but couldn’t do anything against him.

“Me?” Lin Yi looked at Elder Yu again, “I’ll take the medical notes with me first, who knows if you will run away with the notes and never return.”

“Hmph, whatever!” Elder Yu took a deep breath and silently swallowed down his anger- he decided not to argue with him now, he could kill him anytime- it wouldn’t be too late to snatch back the items after getting out of the tomb and recovering from his injuries!

“Male thief, did you only want these items?” Old Hei looked at Lin Yi with suspicious eyes- he couldn’t understand why would he go against Elder Yu at all costs. There were so many treasures in the tomb, what was the point of getting the personal and medical notes?

He had never heard of couple thieves that were interested in these things before. However, this was not something Old Hei should interefere with, especially after knowing that Lin Yi was a mystic class master- he dared not to comment anymore.

“I don’t have any interests in other things just yet,” Lin Yi said faintly, “You better not ask about things that you shouldn’t be asking, mind your own business!”

Old Hei was shocked but nodded anyway. He smiled bitterly inside, why did he ask something this stupid, he could only blame his own mouth. It was obvious that Lin Yi didn’t want to talk about it and this had nothing to do with him at all, he was already lucky being alive and all!

He remembered that Old Keng, Old Hao, and James were all dead, both were killed by him and one had been eaten by a beast. He believed that he wouldn’t be able to continue tomb raiding anymore after everything that happened. While killing Old Hao was reasonable, Old Keng had been innocent! He didn’t deserve to die!

If no one knew what he did, he would have been able to still stay in the profession, but the couple and the sparrow girl had witnessed everything! He couldn’t just lock them up forever, could he? Old Hei had decided that he needed to change his profession after getting out of the tomb safely.

“If that’s the case, let’s look for a way out then,” You Xiaoke didn’t want to stay in the tomb any longer, “There’s a burial chamber, are we going?”

“I am not going, I doubt there is anything we want in there and it’s pretty dangerous and all. Let’s leave this place as soon as possible,” Old Hei shook his head- he didn’t want to get involved with anymore dangers after getting so many rare treasures.

“Everything I need is with the male thief so naturally, I won’t want anything to do with that!” Elder Yu snorted.

He had already lost an eye, it was a huge loss.

“Look for an exit, the entrance is probably not working anymore,” Lin Yi’s purpose had been fulfilled so he didn’t mind anyway.

In actuality, Lin Yi wanted to visit the burial chamber to have a look. After all, his old man did mention that Zhang Liju might even own secret powerful treasures, but until now he hadn’t sensed or seen anything special on the way!

Elder Jiao was sensitive to treasures so if the treasure was around the corner, he should have been able to sense it but nothing had peeked his interest so far.

“Where’s the exit?” You Xiaoke smiled bitterly, “Now, we can only go follow the hallway and see what’s in front of us!”

Everyone nodded in agreement and left the chamber. However as they walked further, there were doors in sight. It seemed like in this tomb there were only four chambers- Zhang Liju really wasn’t living in luxury when he was still alive.

But it was natural, Zhang Liju always kept a low profile, otherwise, he wouldn’t have been alone for his whole life, not having any kids or a wife. If he was a greedy person, he would have gotten himself a group of wives and wouldn’t have stayed in this tomb and left everything behind.

After walking for three or four hundred meters, they reached the end of the hallway. This tomb wasn’t built to be complicated and so the most brain wrecking problems were all above the tomb.

Two stoned doors stood infront of them, the doors were similar but also slightly different- both had different designs crafted on them with klotski puzzles at the middle of them.

“Where is this? What’s with the two doors?” Elder Yu looked at the doors and asked.

“Elder Yu, I’m afraid that this might be the legendary door of life and death….” Old Hei’s expression became serious as he spoke, “According to my experience, if we walk through the life door we can leave this tomb safely but if we enter the death door, we will find the grave of the tomb owner and stay with the dead forever!”

“Then what are we waiting for? Just go through the life one, only idiots would choose the death door!” Elder Yu said impatiently, “Open the life door quickly, we are leaving this place now!”

“…. Elder Yu, the door of life and death…. To be honest, even I can’t differentiate them….” Old Hei smiled bitterly, you’re the only idiot here! In this tomb, naturally, nobody would want to choose the death door but even in basic tombs, treasures could be found in the death doors!

However, it wasn’t like he could say this right in front of Elder Yu, could he? Calling Elder Yu an idiot was the last thing he wanted right now, was he looking to die? So in the end, he could only complain in his heart.x
