Su Qiuzi laughed a little and said, “It’s just that I’m afraid of being fired. After all, this part-time job is quite stable.”

Besides, last time on He Yu’s birthday, she made him a bunny in the pottery house and Guan Lin didn’t charge her for it.

The part-time job at the pottery house was something that Su Qiuzi had been doing since her junior year, and it had already been over a year since she started.

Eventually, on Friday night, Su Qiuzi got a call from Lin Qing that her senior brother’s wife was expecting a baby and she was going to rescue the scene. On the other end of the phone, Lin Qing reminded Su Qiuzi, “Don’t pick up the tickets now, see if you can have them refunded.”

“I already got the tickets.” Su Qiuzi said quietly.

Ling Qing freaked out. “Why did you take it so early?”

“I got here early and just picked up the tickets and headed to dinner.” Su Qiuzi said, “Besides, you promised your dog’s head to me, I didn’t expect you to not come.”

Hanging up the phone with Lin Qing, Su Qiuzi took the movie ticket in her hand and drank her milk tea, thinking about what to do. She couldn’t refund her tickets, as it had already been picked up, and there was no point in seeing the movie by herself.

Suddenly, Su Qiuzi remembered the last time Miao Hualing called and reminded her of something. Su Qiuzi pondered for half a moment before finally making the call.

Inside the quiet car, the man sitting in the back row was flipping through papers. He wore a black overcoat with a well-cut suit inside. He was tall and upright, giving a sense of authority even while sitting. His eyes hung slightly, his side-face contoured perfectly, and occasionally a frown would appear when he saw something disappearing in his papers.

After reading the paper in his hand, the man raised his hand and pinched his brow. His fingers were slender and bony, connecting the well-defined lines of his wrist. Just as he was about to put the file down, the man’s phone vibrated a couple of times. Taking it over, he raised his eyebrows slightly.

“Hello.”

“Hmm? Are you busy now?”

“No.”

“Where are you? I’ll go over now.”

With a few words, He Yu hung up the phone in his hand. After he had the driver change locations and continue driving, he dialed another number.

Huai Jing had just finished dealing with a few people and was now drinking champagne alone by the pool at the party. Having just sat down, he tried to pull his tie away, but held back after looking up.

A call came over, and Huai Jing pressed to answer it, leaning back on the card seat with a lazy voice: “When are you coming over?”

“I’m not going over there tonight.” He Yu said faintly, “You help me deal with it.”

His peach blossom eyes faintly picked, and Huai Jing actually smiled. Today’s occasion wasn’t a big one, and it wasn’t necessary for a representative of the He Group to come. But generally, He Yu always arrived on time for the banquets he promised to go to.

After accepting He Yu’s request, Huai Jing asked, “Why? Why wouldn’t you come? Is there anything that needs you personally to do?”

“Yes.” He Yu put aside his papers and replied, “Accompanying my wife to the movies.”
