Chapter 269.4: Meeting for the First Time, It’s Just Great

“I do not need to.”

Qiong Fei shook his head a little helplessly. “People of the wolf tribe have always been loyal and devoted towards their lovers. Compared to me, you seem to have inherited more of the true blood of the wolf tribe than me, which makes me feel a little ashamed of myself.”

Hearing that, Qing Ye Li merely turned to glance at him a moment. “Father does not need to put yourself down unduly, taking to wine in order to distract yourself will not let you forget old memories. It will only make you miss Mother more, and add on to the agony.”

The nonchalant smile on Qiong Fei’s face suddenly froze in place, like his troubled mind had been read, the expression on his face highly amusing to see.

A good long while passed before Qiong Fei then let out a sigh. “Kid…..”

Everyone thought that he had already forgotten. Even he himself felt that he no longer remembered it.

But every night in his dreams, he would come awake and subconsciously feel the bed just beside him.

It was always bare and desolately cold.

He did not know how long it had been, but he was still unable to rid himself of that habit.

He had never allowed any women to sleep beside him throughout the nights, but loved just that one woman with her warm smile to snuggle deep within his embrace as they slept.

A good number of women had come and gone throughout his long life but just this one single woman had taken up a place in his heart, one he was unable to forget even though so many years have passed, to the extent that he came to know what loneliness felt like for the first time in the hundred years that she was not with him.

Despite the fact that he had other women at his side, he was no longer able to feel the same fulfilment in his heart he had felt before.

It could not be said that Qing Ye Li loved this father of his all that much and he came back to the man only because of their inseverable bond in the blood they shared. But there were times he felt that the man was really pitiful, so he could not really bring himself to hate that man.

Not wanting to see the man’s expression that was suddenly quickly growing depressed and gloomy, Qing Ye Li immediately opened his mouth to say: “What did you want to say to me summoning me here?”

Qiong Fei then seemed to snap right out of his depressing thoughts and went on to say: “I wanted to tell you after you’ve dealt with your personal business, you should take a trip to go to Cloud Heaven!”

Qing Ye Li’s expressionless countenance that did not show a ripple of emotion then suddenly changed slightly, the lusciously green eyes on that handsome face deepening. A moment passed before he was heard asking: “What for?”

How could Qiong Fei possibly not have felt the surge in the man’s emotions? Qiong Fei could not help but say with a laugh: “Do not misunderstand. I am not trying to interfere in your business, but am just asking for your help as a father.”

Qing Ye Li stiffened his lips. “Help with what?”

“You must have heard about the Divine Realm in Cloud Heaven, the Mind Free Peak right?” Qiong Fei asked the man.

Qing Ye Li inclined his head slightly and replied: “A little of it.”

“I would like you to help me to go retrieve something from the Mind Free Peak.” Qiong Fei’s green eyes darkened, falling deep in contemplation for a while before he raised his eyes and said: “It is something that is very important to me.”

Qing Ye Li’s eyes quivered slightly. “Alright. I will definitely bring the item back for you.”
