Chapter 43: A Small Touch on Ye Fan’s Nose (3)
While Ye Fan crouched down beside the display shelf to pick out some things, little baby Ye Duo pointed his meaty fingers to the row of sugar.
“Mama, sugar, sweet.”
Ye Fan let Dudu try some last time, and she didn’t give him much, but Dudu still had a deep impression of that sweet flavor.
Ye Fan didn’t want to give her child too much sugar so she took Dudu’s hand and led him away. She pointed to the yogurt and said, “This is sweet too. Should we buy this one?”
Dudu remembered the taste of yogurt too. After some thought, he nodded.
“Mama.” Ye Fan could feel someone hugging at her calf, but that voice did not belong to Dudu.
Ye Fan looked down and was stunned. It was a young girl she had never seen before, and she called her mama?
The young girl was just about as old as Dudu, and she had tears streaked across her red face. She must have gotten separated from her mother.
The moment she called Ye Fan mama, Dudu’s small little face distorted into a grimace. He caught Ye Fan’s hand and eyed the young girl vigilantly.
But Ye Fan did not notice that. She crouched down to ask the girl a question, but she was too young to respond coherently. So, she could only hold onto her hand on one side, Dudu on the other, and headed for the front desk.
Fortunately, the mother of the young girl was just about to put out a lost child broadcast after losing her child, and she was practically in tears when Ye Fan went over to her.
After finding her child, that person thanked Ye Fan endlessly. She was very grateful.
Ye Fan went back and picked up the basket she had left on the shelf. After Ye Fan paid for her things and was about to leave, she realized that something was off about Dudu. He was quiet, making no noise as he held tightly onto Ye Fan’s hand.
Dudu had a really sullen face. With just one look, she could tell he was angry.
Ye Fan brought Dudu over to the resting area of the supermarket. Then, crouching down in front of him, she looked at him face to face.
“What’s wrong, baby?”
Dudu was upset and ignored Ye Fan, turning his head to the side with a pouting mouth. He looked like he was going to cry.
Ye Fan was feeling a little anxious now. She had no idea what happened earlier that caused Dudu to become this way.
But Ye Fan was very patient. Softly, she coaxed him, “You can tell mama if anything’s wrong, baby. What made you unhappy?”
Dudu’s long eyelashes hung down, and the tears hanging off of them nearly dripped down.
“You’re my mama. Mine. My mama.” Dudu muttered very softly. He seemed to be repeating it in emphasis because he wanted Ye Fan to understand that.
Dudu was nearly three years old and learned many words now. He could also express himself clearly.
Ye Fan realized that the matter with the little girl and her mother earlier made Dudu feel insecure.
Ye Fan rubbed Dudu’s small little earlobe. Then, holding Dudu’s face up, she looked into his round eyes and said, “Baby loves mama a lot, right?”
Even if Dudu was still angry at Ye Fan, he still nodded.
Dudu felt very wronged. It’s true, he liked his mama a lot, but his mama nearly got snatched away by someone.
Ye Fan continued to coax him in a gentle tone. “That little girl liked her mama very much too. That’s why I helped her find her mama.”
“But mama belongs only to you. My baby is my number one.”
Ye Fan had no idea whether Dudu could understand her or not, but she repeated it in hopes that Dudu could understand her meaning.
After some time, Dudu suddenly came close and kissed the tip of Ye Fan’s nose.
A small touch landed right at the tip of Ye Fan’s nose.
Ye Fan felt her heart turn soft all of a sudden.
After that kiss, Dudu put his entire being into Ye Fan’s arms, returning to his usual self.
In a very roundabout way, he expressed to Ye Fan that he forgives her.
