Lin Xin stopped and turned her head, “Thank you, but I refuse. I’ve decided to stop looking for financing.”

Her immeasurable confidence was exactly the same as it was back then.

Xiao Tian was startled. He expected to find shadows in her face, but there were only confidence, coldness and a faint disdain for him.

The events of that year were like a series of scenes floating in his mind, and he could not shake them off no matter how hard he tried. Being rejected by the same person once again made Xiao Tian feel at the same time, unresigned and humiliated. He called his private secretary and asked him to check on what had happened in the orphanage.

Lin Xin hugged her documents and walked out of the Rising Sun.

Looking at the 22-storey building, she thought to herself, How far can I hide from Xiao Tian? I can’t involve myself with him, not even a little.

When she returned to the office, Yu Fei had already gone home. She searched for more information and decided to go home earlier today. When she was close to the entrance of the neighborhood, she called Lin Xinyu to tell him she was almost home and asked him if he wanted to come and pick her up.

Of course, Lin Xinyu was disposed. After hanging up, ‘Da Da…’ was heard as he came running downstairs.

Lin Xin walked home, buying apples and bananas. Just as she was about to reach the entrance of the district with the bag of fruits, an Audi suddenly stopped in front of her and blocked her way.

Lin Xin wanted to say, ‘What’s the big deal of driving an Audi…’

The door opened and Xiao Tian stepped out from the driver’s seat. Seeing him, Lin Xin chose to pretend he didn’t exist. She lowered her head, pretending not to know him, and continued to walk toward the gate of her neighborhood.

Xiao Tian stopped her and asked, “Has Li Ya never violated you in the past?”

Lin Xin stared at him and replied, “It has nothing to do with you.”

Xiao Tian continued to probe, “That year, you used me and my mother, didn’t you?”

Lin Xin didn’t want to have anything to do with him anymore, so she dodged to the side and nimbly slipped under his armpits.

Xiao Tian grabbed the fruit bag from her hands and ended up ripping it, sending the apples tumbling down to the ground.

“It took me a long time to pick them!” She shouted as she bent down to pick the fruits one by one.

Xiao Tian couldn’t believe apples were more important than him. Insulted, he got so mad that he picked up an apple off the ground and forcefully threw it at Lin Xin’s face.

Lin Xin cried out in pain while covering her right cheek. She never thought Xiao Tian would be so rude as to throw apples at people. From the very beginning, she never liked Xiao Tian. She didn’t have any reason to like him, and now, she had become even more annoyed at him.

She picked up an apple and planned to score him with it too. But after giving it some thought, she decided to put it back in her fruit bag.

Deciding to ignore him, she walked on, clutching two bags of fruits over her face.

Xiao Tian thought that she would retaliate, but he waited for nothing.

“Don’t go,” he said as he grabbed her arm.

Lin Xin raised her leg and gave him a kick which landed on his calf, causing him to half-kneel on the ground, unable to stand. Lin Xin glared at him and said, “Don’t go thinking that I won’t fight back.”

Xiao Tian had the same temperament as Lin Xin, he was not someone who was easily picked on. Furthermore, no one dared to attack him since he was young. How could he possibly not be angry? Just as he was about to pounce, a figure suddenly appeared and pulled Lin Xin away, landing a kick in the pit of his stomach.

As Xiao Tian bent down, he looked up (to see his attacker), and both people simultaneously said, “It’s you.”

His chest burned as if it caught on fire. This burning feeling spread throughout his whole body. Who’d have thought that kid would suddenly be able to kick him? He had always been so frail he couldn’t stand a stiffer breeze, so weak that he could be pinched to death.
