Chapter 88 – Dr. Zhou’s Girlfriend

But as soon as he turned around, there was a person in his arms. The familiar fragrance and feeling clearly pointed to Su Jinbei.

“You…” Zhou Shiyun didn’t know how to react.

“Ta-dah! Are you surprised?” Su Jinbei tilted her head up to look at him.

It took Zhou Shiyun some time to register what was happening. She was here. Living, breathing Su Jinbei.

Zhou Shiyun had to admit he was pleasantly surprised. The moment he saw her, his heart leaped with joy.

“Because it’s your birthday today. I came home from Guangzhou to find you but didn’t expect that you came here. There was nothing else I could do, I could only come after you.”

Zhou Shiyun paused, “My birthday?”

“Yeah, I’m here to wish you a happy birthday.” Su Jinbei smirked, “I even have a small cake in my bag, but the trip here was rocky so it’s probably all ruined now.”

Zhou Shiyun looked down at her. His light-colored pupils quivered. She travelled thousands of miles here just for a mere birthday…

“It’s so hard to walk over here. Look at my shoes, they’re completely unusable now.”

Zhou Shiyun frowned slightly, looking down at her feet.

The village had honestly improved over the years, it had been much worse before. But it was still an extremely harsh environment for Su Jinbei, who had lived her entire life in the metropolis. Zhou Shiyun sighed internally, how could she come all the way here for him?

“Who told you I was here? Did you come alone?”
