Chapter 115: Deceiving Uncle Sheng (12)

Shu Nuan came out of the academy, planning to return to rest at the inn. After all, she had little money left and needed to eat, so she could not afford the accommodation.

However, when she returned to the inn, she was told by the shopkeeper that someone had paid her accommodation fee for the next month.

Shu Nuan thought of Sheng Qianmo. But then she gave a wry smile, as it obviously couldn’t be him.

Since she’d come out of the palace that day, she hadn’t returned to the Shenghe Manor, let alone having seen Sheng Qianmo.

She knew well that, the last time, she’d been trapped in Jing Fei’s house all night, and that had made Sheng Qianmo furious. This time she’d left him without saying a word.

Who was Sheng Qianmo? He was a prince, and invincible. Even the emperor and some of his brothers feared him. Why would such a noble person put effort to find such a humble slave who didn’t conform to his wishes?

Obviously impossible.

However, Shu Nuan found out the answer soon.

She was startled upon opening the door. Sheng Lingyun sat at the table. She paused and gave him a cold stare.

“Did Seventh Prince enter the wrong room?”

Sheng Lingyun looked at her and said, “This Prince came to see you.”

He stood up and walked over to her.

“This Prince made an arrangement to provide you with a necessity. You can live at this inn with confidence. If… you feel uncomfortable, I can take you back to the Yun Manor.”

After staring at him for a while, Shu Nuan turned and left.

Sheng Lingyun rushed up and grabbed her hand. “Before now, you would’ve gone to Fourth Brother… I am not sure what to say, but now Fourth Brother doesn’t want you. You are a little girl. How dangerous is it to be without a patron? You should follow me.”

Shu Nuan cast a glance at her hand. “Seventh Prince, please let go.”

Her voice was soft, with a hint of iciness: a little cold, but pleasant nonetheless.

Sheng Lingyun felt her soft little hand, looked at her lips move, and couldn’t help but clutch the throat. Still, he let go of her hand.

Then he saw Shu Nuan go inside the room. He thought Shu Nuan’s attitude had eased, so he followed in.

“Don’t worry. After following This Prince, I will treat you better than Fourth Brother.”

Shu Nuan turned a deaf ear and packed her luggage with indifference.

Sheng Lingyun was delighted, thinking she agreed to go back to his palace. In a moment of joy, he eagerly helped Shu Nuan pack her things. Even when her cold face confronted him, he felt happy.

However, what he didn’t expect was Shu Nuan picking up the baggage and pushing the door open to leave the inn. She didn’t agree to go with him at all.

Since they were walking on the street, Sheng Lingyun wouldn’t be aggressive in his pursuit. Still, he followed her closely. “Shu Nuan, where are you going?”

Shu Nuan refused to say a word and kept walking with a cold face

Sheng Lingyun sighed and said, “If you don’t want to go back to the Yun Manor with me, then forget it.”

In any case, the emperor had him under strict watch, and there was his Fourth Brother to worry about. It wouldn’t be good for him to take her back.

Shu Nuan still ignored him and kept walking.

“This Prince didn’t force you, but now you don’t even have a place to go. You… take this,” Sheng Lingyun said, handing a bag of silver he’d prepared beforehand to Shu Nuan.

But Shu Nuan didn’t receive it. She stopped and glanced at him.

“Thank you for your concern, but I don’t need it.”
