Chapter 138 : Deceiving Uncle Sheng (37)

Sheng Qianmo looked at her. Her cherry-colored lips were slightly open, and some white powder was on the tip of her nose. She had probably touched her nose when making snacks. Sheng Qianmo extended his hand and wiped the tip of her nose. His movement was gentle but left an indescribable cold sensation in her. He uttered with an indifferent tone, “Are you so short of money?”

Hearing this, Shu Nuan squinted, and the corner of her mouth faintly moved.

But Sheng Qianmo did not seem to want to hear her opinion. He just pulled her hand to walk ahead.

Shu Nuan felt that Sheng Qianmo was exerting too much holding her hand. She frowned slightly and whispered, “Your Highness, you’re hurting my hand.

Sheng Qianmo steps paused. He looked down at her, then lessened the strength of his grip by a little.

Shu Nuan didn’t ask Sheng Qianmo where he would take her. He just took her along in silence. Her thoughts had been wandering, and so she didn’t look at the road, causing her to trip by some stones on the ground. If Sheng Qianmo had not reached to hold her waist, she would have fallen down.

Shu Nuan was stunned in his arms and didn’t move.

“Nuan?”

Shu Nuan’s breathing somewhat trembled.

Sheng Qianmo picked her up, caught her slender white feet, and took off one of her shoes. Her toes were red and swollen.

Sheng Qianmo frowned, took off the other shoe, and carried her on his back and walked to the nearby medicine hall. Between going there and smearing the medicine, Sheng Qianmo was calm and didn’t speak at all.

Shu Nuan clung to his back, but she could feel his coldness. She knew he was angry, but she didn’t know what he was angry about.

Shu Nuan held his neck without saying a word. She silently leaned over his neck to breathe. Perhaps because of his strong and tall body, she wasn’t afraid to be carried by him like this.

When passing by the market, Shu Nuan saw something. She gently grasped Sheng Qianmo’s clothes by his shoulder and said in a low voice, “Your Highness, there is pear-syrup candy here that is especially delicious.”

Sheng Qianmo squeezed her butt mercilessly. “Eating that on such a cold day? Did you forget that you were sick?”

Shu Nuan opened her mouth and bit his shoulder. “I just said it was delicious. I didn’t say I wanted to eat it,” she argued in a sorrowful voice.

Sheng Qianmo coldly snorted, lowering his head and hold her calf swaying on his waist. It had been smeared with the medicine and relieved of the swelling, but it still looked red. Sheng Qianmo asked her, “Does it still hurt?”

Shu Nuan rested her head on his shoulder and turned to look away, ignoring him.

Sheng Qianmo didnt force her either and did not return in a hurry. He walked along the river while she clung to his back. The wind made her feet smeared with medicine better.

After a long time, Shu Nuan turned back. With a pair of watery eyes, she looked at Sheng Qianmo’s cold, handsome profile, and his indifferent and deep eyes. After looking at him for a while, she sniffled and said,

“The Dowager gave me a cup of poisoned wine that day and asked for my choice. I chose to live and left without saying goodbye to Your Highness…”

She had thought that she could stay away from Sheng Qianmo. She hadn’t thought to say anything to him, for there shouldn’t have been an opportunity for two such people to meet again.

However, he had pulled her out of the mud. It was him who had given her hope… So, she still wanted to give him an explanation, no matter what he wanted.
