Chapter 161: Deceiving Uncle Sheng (60)
Shu Nuan hugged him from behind. Sheng Qianmo bowed his head and gently grasped her small hands. He held for a moment, before he turned around and embraced her. He said something in a faint whisper.
Shu Nuan could only nod as she looked at him as he walked out of the bedroom hall. Soon, the horses outside the Sheng Manor galloped away.
Shu Nuan once again laid in her bed to rest. After a short sleep, she woke up and touched the empty bed beside her and contemplated something for a bit. She laid in bed for a long time before she got up.
Shu Nuan went to the academy early, but she hadn’t expected to meet Sheng Gu. It’d been a while since they’d last met. When Sheng Gu saw her, she rushed to her without thinking. But Shu Nuan pretended she hadn’t seen her and continued to walk past her. Sheng Gu wanted to catch up with her, yet she couldn’t with her frail limbs. She coughed a few times, gasped, and shouted at her, “Stop! Stop!”
Shu Nuan still kept on walking.
“I tell you, Ji Xili and Fourth Uncle marched to Southern Xinjiang together!”
Shu Nuan paused.
Seeing this, Sheng Gu raised her eyebrows, feeling that somehow she’d been successful in her mission. Without thinking much, Sheng Gu moved in haste and caught up.
Shu Nuan turned around and saw Sheng Gu’s face filled with proud provocation. She said softly, “So?”
Sheng Gu glared at her and asked, “Aren’t you sad?”
“Why should I be sad?”
Sheng Gu was dazed and reacted without a pause. She gave a cold snort.
“You were just trying to please Fourth Uncle from beginning to end! When he and Sister Xili return from the war, he will definitely not like you anymore!”
“Oh,” Shu Nuan replied, then turned around and left.
“Shu Nuan!”
Sheng Gu panted as she ran behind her.
Shu Nuan gave her a dark look and said, “If Your Highness just wants to see me sad and weep. I’m sorry, but that won’t happen.”
“Don’t pretend. If Fourth Uncle doesn’t want you, you are nothing at all. Do you think someone cares that you got the first place?”
Shu Nuan looked at her and said, “The fact is that I still live in the Sheng Manor, and the first place is better than the bottom.”
Sheng Gu snorted again.
“What are you so proud of? Fourth Uncle has gone to fight in Southern Xinjiang now. If I want to get to you, there are ways.”
Shu Nuan felt something, but her face was still indifferent.
“What will you do to offend me this time, princess?”
Sheng Gu had no choice but to grit her teeth. She said, “Wait and see!”
“The first time Your Highness offended me, your confidant was severely punished. The second time, you were expelled from Shenghe Manor. Before you touch me the next time, please think about your own way out.”
Shu Nuan spoke softly. With her eyes full of disgust, she began to turn around and walk, no longer looking at Sheng Gu, who had still not said anything.
Shu Nuan found that Wen Zhigu hadn’t come to class again. There was a vague ominous emotion in her heart. After all, Ji Xubai had an abnormal personality. She didn’t know if what she’d done the day before would have made him angry toward Wen Zhigu.
She planned to ask her classmates where Wen Zhigu lived so she could visit her after school. She wanted to see her.
However, after going to class, Teacher Li, who had taken up Ji Xubai’s post while a permanent teacher was being looked for, called her to his private room, saying that he had something to tell her.
Teacher Li showed her a piece of information. “Have you heard of Yu Shuicheng?”
When Shu Nuan received the information, she replied, “I think I have seen it on the drawings.”
“The academy is going to send two students to learn new things in Yu Shuicheng. I recommend you to go. Would you like to?”
