Sheng Qianmo observed the little girl sipping the medicine with difficulty, but pretended to be calm. Her twisted expression was depressing, but Sheng Qianmo said as he wiped at Shu Nuan’s glistening lip with his fingertip, “You look aggrieved.”

As she soaked in the warmth of his hand against her abdomen, she recalled the festival when, in the backyard, Sheng Qianmo had inserted his finger into her mouth. She promptly cowered a little and mumbled something.

After Shu Nuan finished her medicine, Sheng Qianmo put down the bowl and said, “This Prince has already asked for a day off for you. So have a good rest in the manor today, okay?”

Shu Nuan thought he wouldn’t believe her and couldn’t help saying, “I really meant to come back before dark…”

“In conclusion, someone kidnapped you and Jing Fei and wouldn’t let you two out of his house?”

Sheng Qianmo was silent for a moment. Then he rubbed her hair. “This Prince knows.”

He had punished her immediately without careful judgement.
