Chapter 1: Prologue

[Emergency situation! Emergency situation!!]

The pilot’s trembling voice rang throughout the plane.

[Ladies and gentlemen, our plane is currently off course due to an unknown cause!]

Crash!!

With those words, a large explosion suddenly sounded from one side of the airplane. The large passenger plane erupted in pandemonium.

The passengers’ faces all turned white. Emergency escape? The plane was currently 10,000 meters above the Pacific Ocean. If they made an emergency escape here, they were basically committing suicide.

“Ack! Save me! I can’t die like this!!!”

“Mom! Ahhhh!”

The passengers all screamed in terror. And in the midst of all of that, there was a Korean woman sitting in business class with her fists clenched. ‘Emergency escape? There’s no way we’ll survive that way!’

Her entire body trembled. ‘No! I can’t die like this again! I wasn’t able to achieve happiness during this life either. I was just about to become happy!’

Her name was Song Jihyun. She was a general surgeon, and she was known as the genius doctor who became the youngest person ever to be a professor of Seoul Medical University. ‘I worked so hard! I was just about to pay for all my sins in my past life!’

Master surgeon. Great surgeon. The genius of the century. A monster. There were countless nicknames like these for her, but what did that matter? She was about to die now.

‘I wanted to be happy in this life.’ Tears dripped down her face.. This was already her second futile death. Her past two lives flashed by her eyes; the first life she had was in another world, not on Earth.

Once again, something exploded and the airplane started to tilt.

With the smell of something burning, she realized she was going to die. Even emergency escaping was impossible now. She tightly shut her eyes for the incoming horror.

Just why? All of a sudden, she remembered her family members from when she lived as ‘Elise.’ Her serious father, her older brother, who was strict, but always put her interests first, and her second older brother, who always took care of her generously. The people she didn’t realize were special until it was too late–she missed them.

Was it because of the crimes she had committed? Even though 30 years had passed, her longing for her family only grew.
