Chapter 48 – What to Do

Although Ye Chenyuan was her disciple, she still had to respect his privacy. Since he decided to go into seclusion for three days, Yuan Chu had no other choice. She would just sit outside the shield and wait.

She thought: he wasn’t in a very good state right now. What if he encounters a fierce beast? She needs to protect him.

Only, what was wrong with him? Why had his emotions turned so fierce? Did the three days soul urging incense magnify his desire for vengeance? Did he lock himself up because he was afraid of hurting her amid his spike in killing intent?

If that was the case, how could she make him feel better?

Ye Chenyuan used his blood to draw a formation in the dark, isolating himself from Venerable Li’s peeking. However, once Yuan Chu knew that Venerable Li couldn’t see Ye Chenyuan’s movements anymore, she was even more ill at ease. Fortunately, Venerable Li and Ye Chenyuan’s lives were connected. If something happened to Ye Chenyuan, she would still be in time to rush in. Thus, she was able to sit still.

Like this, three days had passed in waiting.

Ye Chenyuan didn’t know how he endured for three days. No, those three days were not hard to bear at all. The longing in his heart had been so limitlessly magnified that he had even spent those three days muddleheaded, like falling through mist and clouds.

His hand moved and the shackles moved with them. Ye Chenyuan was afraid he would rush outside, so he had used chains to lock himself in place while he still had his reasons. Now that he was awake, he looked out through the shield and saw the person he longed for in his heart.

Yuan Chu had not abstained from the mortal practice of eating. In the same way, she also needed sleep. However, in these three days, she just sat there, not eating or drinking or moving at all. Although it had no effect on her body, she still felt worn out.

Just like right now, she sat cross-legged. Her little head nodded downwards. Her eyes half closed and then opened wide, extreme weariness weighing them down.

Besides, her cultivation was too high. These few years, she hadn’t grown much; her arms and legs were still tiny. Now, they were curled up in a ball. It was adorable yet pitiful.

Ye Chenyuan felt a slight sweetness in his heart. She cared for him like that, and even if she didn’t say, he could see it all. However, he was very bitter at the same time.

The way she cared about him was entirely different from the way he cared about her.

Yes, in those three days, he had realized his inner heart. He also deeply felt that the desire he held for Yuan Chu was not just one of a disciple to his master.

Therefore, how was he supposed to treat her in the future?

Ye Chenyuan meditated for a long while after becoming clear. He was not very old. From when he first encountered his feelings until now, he had been ignorant for long enough.

He wanted to continue being with Yuan Chu, to pretend that nothing had happened at all. Yet, he also understood that he, who had realized his feelings, might not be able to return to how it was before. And if he crossed the boundary, Yuan Chu would be affected much more seriously than him.

Once he knew what he should do, he used a cleaning art, removing all the suspicious marks on his body and the weird smell in the hole. He put on a new set of clothes. Only then did he move aside the shield.

Yuan Chu jumped up the moment she heard the shield moving aside!

“You finally came out!”

She flew over, pulling and checking him all over. Heavens knew how many times she had wanted to rush straight in. She was only able to resist because of her fear that her actions would harm him. Now that he had come back safe and sound, Yuan Chu let out a big sigh of relief.

“You scared me to death!”

Her hands clung to his body while her cheeks puffed up in grievance.

Ye Chenyuan lowered his head to look at her. In his eyes, there was unchangeable warmth. In the past, he would have withdrawn it, but at this moment, he doesn’t want to withdraw it, to repress his emotions any longer.

“I’m fine, Master. Were you very worried?”

“Of course, I was worried!” Yuan Chu curled her little hands into a fist and battered him in the chest, seething. “You locked yourself up for three days without a word, and you’re still not telling me what was up! Did that little hussy give you some other drug as well?”

She reached out to take his pulse, but Ye Chenyuan quickly held her hand in place, stopping it. Without letting it go, he said, “No, I had my own reasons.”

Yuan Chu hmphed. She had decided that from today onwards, she was no longer Ji Hongyan’s fan!

However, she knew it wasn’t just her misconception. She felt that after Ye Chenyuan came out, there was something different about his temperament.

Before, he was gentle and refined. Overflowing with exquisite detail, his eyes were clear and piercing. A hint of a smile always hung on his face. He looked mild and harmless.

But now, Yuan Chu sensed that there was something more in Ye Chenyuan’s eyes. That smile was no longer so pure… What in the world happened to him during the last three days…?

However, no matter what, it was fine as long as he was still her disciple!

She stood on her tiptoes and patted Ye Chenyuan’s shoulder. “Okay, what happened had already happened… As long as you’re fine, I won’t say much more. I know your mind is definitely weighed down by a lot of things. It’s all good if you don’t want to talk about them. Just know that no matter what you do, Master will always support you!”

Yuan Chu was thinking to herself. Ye Chenyuan still bore the hatred of an ocean of blood! Once he had the power, he would naturally seek revenge. It seems that she also needs to do her best in raising her strength. Then, when the time comes, she would still be able to assist her disciple.

But her words made Ye Chenyuan stiffen slightly. He stared at her, his voice hoarse.

“Will you really support me, no matter what I do?”

Yuan Chu nodded without the least bit of hesitation. “Don’t worry and bravely do what you want!”

A faint smile hovered on his lips, his beautiful phoenix eyes narrowed. “Then I…” want to kiss you. Is that alright?

“Hmm?” Yuan Chu waited for him to continue.

“It’s nothing…” Ye Chenyuan stared at her for a while. Finally, he placed his hand on top of her head, patting her.

“I want to go out to train on my own. Is that alright?”

Yuan Chu froze. She was originally very angry when Ye Chenyuan patted her head, but now, she couldn’t help falling into a daze.

“You want to go and train on your own?”

Ye Chenyuan pursed his lips and nodded.

At first, Yuan Chu felt unwilling. It was the kind of feeling like when the child you so bitterly raised grew wings and wanted to fly away. Then, you wouldn’t see him for years, not even a letter or message… But she thought of something and her eyes lit up, a smile slowly breaking out on her face.

She looked up. “Can do! If you want to go out and train, go bold and unworried! Your journey will traverse an ocean of stars!”

As she said this, she stood on her tiptoes and patted his shoulder.

Although Ye Chenyuan had long known that Yuan Chu would agree, his heart still choked up a bit at how refreshed she seemed.

But there was no other choice. He already understood very clearly: the cultivation valued tradition. An ancient sect like Myriad Sword Sect would particularly value established hierarchy. If he really pressured his master and wanted to be with her, the sect would not tolerate them.
