Noticing Hannibal’s gaze turn back to Judith, Derrick grabbed him by the head and pressed him firmly to the ground. He couldn’t let the demon even look at her. Soon the magical energy that surrounded them was concentrated, becoming a powerful weapon, sharper than swords and spears. However, due to the recoil of the excessively raised magical power, Derrick’s body could not stand it.

Blood flowed like water from every orifice. The soul itself was now defeated. The whole body was burning. Annihilation magic is a dark thing that turns the existence of a thing into nothingness. This power is so vast and dangerous that not every demon could withstand wielding it.

– Now let’s go to hell together.

For Derrick, the best decision was to jump into the fiery pit with Hannibal rather than expose Judith to unnecessary danger. The destruction magic was completed, and the black magic circle that was floating in the sky was spinning. In an instant, it began to emit light.

Judith, standing apart from them, covered her eyes with her hands, as if the sun was approaching. A loud roar, like lightning, pierced my ears. A moment later, a cool wind blew, sweeping through the bodies like a raging tidal wave. Judith slowly lowered her hand.

A landscape of a garden appeared in front of her, which was complete. destroyed, as if it had been bombed. The smell of blood that filled the garden tickled my nose. Judith approached them step by step. The pain of a sprained ankle no longer mattered: Duchess had to check on Derrick’s condition.

Approaching him, the girl fell to the ground. Her weak body was full of bruises. Judith now only crawled, trying not to think about the nagging pain. A stream of blood flowed down Derrick’s limp palms like river water. Now he didn’t look like the one who usually protected and hugged her.

– Derrick? – the Duchess called him in a trembling voice.

But there was no answer. Judith tapped his fingers, but he didn’t move.

— Derrick. Get up,” she said, hoping that her husband’s eyes would open.

The demon’s entire body was covered in blood, and the temperature was lower than that of ice. The more Judith noticed these signs, the worse she felt, the more she began to choke, as if someone had grabbed her by the neck.

– Do not joke so. Get up. Please.

The Duchess grabbed Derrick’s body by the chest and shook it as if trying to wake him up. But there was no answer.

Looking at her fingers, Judith saw blood stains and swallowed saliva. My eyes were already hurting from tears.

– You are alive?

There was no longer any confidence in the trembling voice.

Unlike the head, which could not believe in death, the heart was already filled with sadness, like a lake.

– Please, just say that you are alive…

But all her actions were useless, which pierced her heart like a million blades. Lying on the grass, Derrick was just bleeding.

– Anything…

Every second broke Judith’s heart into pieces.

She wanted to hear at least one more word he said. But the lingering wait shattered any hope. Closing her eyes, Judith slowly leaned towards her husband’s chest. But even after waiting for a long time, she did not feel any blows. There was a cold, corpse-like smell in the air.

Judith’s heart was breaking into pieces.

The sky was clear. And the Duchess was the only one who sat in the garden in the rain in sunny weather.
