Chapter 75: An Encounter With Another Ghost (3)
Ye Sui immediately got up from the bed, and subconsciously shouted, “Chen Shu!”
A few seconds later, the sound of hurried footsteps approached. The door was pulled open, and Chen Shu appeared outside.
The lights in the living room were on, and the soft light dispelled the darkness in the room in an instant. Chen Shu saw Ye Sui wrapped in the quilt and sitting blankly on the bed. He reached out and pressed the switch directly.
At that moment, the whole room brightened up.
Chen Shu walked quickly to Ye Sui’s bed with a grave expression, “What’s wrong?”
Ye Sui pointed to the knocked window. “Someone was knocking on the window.” Right that instant, someone started to knock on the window again, proving her words.
Chen Shu just wanted to go to the window, but Ye Sui immediately got up from the bed and said to him, “I’ll go with you.”
As he approached the window, Ye Sui saw a dark shadow outside, hazy and indistinct.
Chen Shu had always been courageous. He opened the window without any scruples. The window suddenly opened with a bang as if something had been hit.
Ye Sui frowned doubtfully. “Did you hear?”
Chen Shu gave her a strange look. “What voice?”
While talking, Ye Sui and Chen Shu heard the sound of knocking on the window again. It was especially scary on a dark night.
“Come again.” Ye Sui pointed out the window, and the dark shadow appeared again. It was impossible for it to be a human. How could an ordinary person be outside the 14th story in the middle of the night?
Chen Shu once again opened the window, and a loud bang accompanied by a sudden scream followed.
Ah-!
The sound grew farther and farther away, finally dissolving into a point that faded away, and the black shadow disappeared.
Ye Sui thought that as long as Chen Shu was involved, his every action would cause substantial damage to the ghost. The ghost just now… should have been fanned down by the window.
“Chen Shu, I have to say…” Ye Sui looked at Chen Shu with complicated eyes. “You are really amazing.”
Chen Shu was not only not tired after staying up most of the night, but he was also in high spirits. He smiled and said, “Is that ghost still there?”
Because when the ghosts met Chen Shu, their abilities would drop sharply, suffering a big loss. It caused Ye Sui to forget the existence of the ghost outside the window.
Ye Sui looked out. “It’s coming!”
When Chen Shu was about to touch the window, a hand appeared at the edge of the window sill. “Wait, Hero, save my life!”
Ye Sui was cursing in her heart. Are you still alive?
A chubby ghost crept in through the window. He hid in a corner, scared of Chen Shu’s appearance.
Ye Sui: “What are you doing, knocking at my window in the middle of the night?”
The chubby ghost was somewhat embarrassed: “I am a fan of Chang Ying, so I don’t like you as Chang Ying’s doppelganger. I just wanted to scare you.”
Ye Sui’s eyes squinted. “Did you also put the letter at the door? Did you want to frighten me on purpose?”
The ghost motioned with his hand at once, fearing that Chen Shu might look for trouble. “It wasn’t me, it wasn’t me! It was another female ghost. It had nothing to do with me. Please explain it to your husband.”
The window-climbing ghost did not know the identity of the female ghost.
Ye Sui retold the story of the chubby ghost to Chen Shu. Afterward, he looked in the direction of her vision just now. “Can you go then? Go through the window.”
The ghost who climbed up the window grievously withdrew his footsteps, avoiding Chen Shu and walking towards the window. He didn’t expect Chang Ying’s look-alike to have such a terrible husband.
As long as Ye Sui’s husband was by her side, neither human nor ghost could get near. Even Chang Ying still chose to concede; she could win over Ye Sui.
Ye Sui watched the ghost leave and couldn’t help but think: if the female ghost was not scaring her, did she really need help?
