It was Chen Shu’s first time to look at Ye Sui’s eyes for so long. Soon, he discovered that they were different from those of other people. 

Ye Sui’s eyes were clear, quiet, and pure. 

Second after second passed. It seemed to be extremely slow, yet too fast at the same time. 

Chen Shu had been thinking back to Ye Suis’s question just now. Did she ask how he felt about eating the cake? Or about the moment he looked at her? 

If it was the latter, Chen Shu would say yes. 

Amid Chen Shu’s hesitation, Ye Sui immediately felt anxious. She quickly changed her mind and even deprived him of the opportunity to answer. 

“Sweet food secretes dopamine. It’d be abnormal if your heart doesn’t speed up. Hahaha, isn’t it funny?” Ye Sui laughed ridiculously.
 

Chen Shu still had a sweet to creamy taste in his mouth. His eyes remained on Ye Sui, but he did not answer. 

Ye Sui almost wanted to sew her mouth shut. If she had time to go back, she promised not to ask this question. 

Chen Shu stared at her again for a while before taking his eyes back. He obviously did not like these cakes in front of him but insisted on eating. 

At the same time, he refuted in his heart that his heartbeat had not accelerated because of these cakes. 

Ye Sui: “…”

Chen Xiu came to Chang Ying’s house. Earlier, Chang Ying wanted him to buy her a necklace. However, not only did he not buy it, even the necklace she fancied was in Ye Sui’s hands.
 

Chang Ying was angry when she returned and felt that she was being compared to Ye Sui. In a bid to lift her mood, Chen Xiu bought many necklaces from several brands for her. 

But Chang Ying was still not happy. She felt that even if there were more of these necklaces, they would remain inferior to Ye Sui’s necklace. Nevertheless, since Chen Xiu had done his best, she could only maintain a smile. 

Chang Ying asked, “Do you think Ye Sui’s necklace was really bought by your little uncle?” 

Chen Xiu also felt strange. “According to my little uncle’s financial conditions, he could not possibly afford this necklace.” A product of a famous designer, even if he had money, he might not be able to buy it. 

Chang Ying thought for a long time and found a good reason. “Maybe Ye Sui’s company gave it to her to keep up appearances. She just deliberately said that Chen Shu gave it to her.” 

Chen Xiu nodded. “It’s possible.” 

Although Chen Shu had mentioned to the family he was making some investments, it was definitely a small amount. He did not believe Chen Shu had such financial resources. 

Seemingly thinking of something, Chen Xiu’s expression suddenly dimmed. “How could a bad omen man like him have any ability after he killed my father?” 

Chang Ying nodded. 

Chen Xiu continued, “Did I tell you that Chen Shu and my father are half-brothers?” 

His father died the year Chen Shu was born. How could it be such a coincidence? 

“Chen Shu’s mother, Sheng Yun, was my grandpa’s second wife. When my uncle was young, she left the house.” 

Chen Xiu still had to go to the Weizhi Group to talk about the movie in the afternoon. After speaking with Chang Ying, he left and soon arrived at the Weizhi Group. A pleasant discussion later, Chen Xiu was about to leave when Qin Xin’s secretary passed by him. 

The secretary had just left Qin Xin’s office. She was going to make coffee while mumbling unconsciously, “What kind of coffee does President Chen like?” 

When Chen Xiu keenly heard the words ‘President Chen’, he immediately reached out, stopped Qin Xin’s secretary, and asked, “Who did you say is in Chief Qin’s office?” 

“President Chen of Huarui.” 

Chen Xiu’s head turned quickly, and he said, “Please help me convey a few words to Chief Qin. I want to talk to her face-to-face.” 

He had to admit that even if President Chen had rejected him, it was nothing compared to the enormous benefits Huarui Company could bring. 

The secretary went in with the coffee and passed on Chen Xiu’s words. Qin Xin nodded and signaled that she knew. 

Chen Shu heard that Chen Xiu was coming to see Qin Xin. His expression changed, becoming unknown. 

Outside, Chen Xiu couldn’t wait to come in. He sorted out his clothes first, then raised his hand to knock on the door. A few seconds later, Qin Xin’s voice came from the other side, “Please come in.”
