Apart from being somewhat exhausted, Su Qiuzi and He Yu’s relationship in bed was still in perfect harmony. After it was over, Su Qiuzi couldn’t resist the fatigue and fell asleep again. She was woken up by Lin Qing’s phone call shortly after twelve in the afternoon.

Her body turned to the side and she found that side of the bed empty. Su Qiuzi took the phone and answered it.

“I’m sorry about ditching you yesterday, but I’ll buy you dinner today at noon at the barbecue shop in the White Stallion Building.” Lin Qing said with a smile.

Su Qiuzi had just woken up and was lying in bed somewhat lazily. She glanced at the time and said, “Forget it, I took a leave this morning.”

“What? You asked for a leave? What could be more important in your mind than making money?” Lin Qing said in shock.

As she said this, Su Qiuzi remembered what happened in the morning. Such a thing was even more shameful and had her heart palpitating. Su Qiuzi blushed, and she let out an “ah” and said, “It’s nothing, there’s something at home.”

“What is it?” Lin Qing was puzzled and asked again, “What’s wrong with your voice?”

With a dry cough, speaking some more was still somewhat difficult, and Su Qiuzi’s face got even hotter. She didn’t answer Lin Qing and hung up the phone with her hands fumbling.

Su Qiuzi tried to move her body. There was still some soreness in her waist and it made her neck and face hot again. She looked at the empty side of the bed. She didn’t know what time he came back yesterday, then there was so much exerting energy in the morning, and now he was up.

In his study room, He Yu sent out the comments for the drawing of the building after revising it. While waiting for the return receipt, he received a call from his mother, Miao Hualing.

This answer didn’t seem to satisfy Miao Hualing. She was silent for a while, then sighed softly.

“No matter how you feel about it, I hope you can get along with Qiuzi. She’s a good girl, and the grievances of the He Family and the Su Family should not implicate her…”

He Yu stared down at the computer screen, his dark eyes reflected the shallow light on the screen, unable to penetrate his eyes. When the notification about the revising drawing receipt arrived, Miao Hualing also finished with her words. He Yu responded swiftly and hung up the phone. After reading the receipt, he got out of the study room.

When he went downstairs to the door of the dining room, Su Qiuzi was already up. She had changed her dress and was drinking water. Hearing the sound of footsteps outside, Su Qiuzi turned her head and, upon seeing him, her eyes widened slightly. Then, a faint redness rose at the bottom of her neck.

“You haven’t left yet.” Su Qiuzi pressed down her flushing emotions and said the sentence after screwing the water bottle cap.

“Well, I’m leaving this afternoon.” He Yu replied.

After a question and answer, the two fell into silence. Even though the two had been so physically close in the morning, they still didn’t know each other well and didn’t really know how to communicate.

Finally, He Yu broke the silence.

“Shall we have lunch together?”

She was originally going to have lunch anyway. Since He Yu took the initiative to invite, Su Qiuzi looked at him and nodded, “Sure, do you want to eat out or order takeout?”

“You cook.”
