Master Meow - Chapter 6 - A Furry Gray Appearance
Chapter 6: A Furry Gray Appearance
At this moment, Lu Qiu wanted to cry in pain. But, she didn’t dare to move even for an inch. She even had all but stopped breathing as she stared at the huge head that was getting closer and closer to her.
She could only watch as the mouth that was full of saliva and sharp fangs came near her. And even though its drool dropped down on her face, she stayed frozen in place and didn’t wipe it off. She simply didn’t dare to do so.
This time I’m really going to die. There’s no more hope for me to be saved.
Unable to bear dying with eyes open, she closed her eyes, resigned as she waited for the inevitable death to come and reap her soul.
Perhaps it was better if I died after falling off the cliff yesterday. At the very least, that way, I didn’t have to watch myself be eaten.
However, while Lu Qiu was waiting for death to come and claim her soul, a huge black shadow suddenly shrouded the forest, momentarily blocking the light. Soon after, this black shadow rapidly plummeted, arriving in front of Pot and Lu Qiu.
Nevertheless, the moment the shadow appeared over the forest, Pot was wary. As such, he had already grabbed Lu Qiu with him when he retreated a few yards away, putting some distance from it.
Meanwhile, at this moment, Lu Qiu was extremely calm. Her expression was similar to a still lake, with nary a ripple in it. Then again, that serenity might be caused by the fact that she had already accepted the fact that she would die today. In any case, she didn’t feel as scared as before. Therefore, even as she lied on the ground, she still tried to look up to see which animal had unexpectedly appeared moments before her death.
The first thing I saw was a wolf, and then a group of dogs. So, this one…
Fortunately, she didn’t have to expend a lot of effort to see which animal crashed in this ‘party’. However, because the plants and animals here all had an incredibly huge size, she could only see the furry gray and white claws and not the whole body. Despite that though, she could judge the animal species from the round and pink soft pad she could see.
It looks familiar… in fact, it looks very familiar…
Isn’t this a cat?
Startled at that, she bent her neck almost into 90 degrees to look at the animal again. Though it almost broke her neck, she still did that to confirm her suspicion. Yet, the only thing she was able to see were the thick legs and thick soft chest.
Nothing more. The animal was just so huge that the head was too high for her to see in her current position. Therefore, she could only look on helplessly as the long fur on the chest slightly fluttered in the wind, completely covering her sight.
As soon as the cat appeared, all of the jackals who had originally tried to attack Pickley stopped their movement. They cautiously moved towards Pot as they growled, conveying their unease with the current situation.
Meanwhile, Pot tightened his paws on the ground warily with his back fur raised: “Earl Wells, I don’t know what makes you come to this place…”
Wells didn’t reply, amber eyes only briefly glanced at him before he walked away, as if Pot’s presence was insignificant. He then approached Pickley and turned him over with his claws, expression disgusted.
Right then, Pickley was in an extremely sorry state. Fortunately, while he was seriously injured, he didn’t die and merely passed out. Then again, he might not be unconscious and was just pretending right now. However, that didn’t matter to Wells at all.
So, he merely turned around, walking gracefully toward Pot.
Wells’ movements were very relaxed. His tail was even swinging left and right, carelessly sweeping the fallen leaves under his feet or hooking down the hanging branches.
Yet, as he moved closer and closer, Pot clearly became more anxious. It wasn’t only him though, but also his group; since the jackals surrounding him also moved closer and closer to him, intimidated by Wells’ obvious power.
Unable to stand the tension further, Pot cautiously asked the earl, “What do you want to do, Earl Wells? We have personal business with Pickley; I hope you don’t intervene.”
At this time, Wells had already come up to him. However, he still did not answer Pot’s question, being too lazy to communicate. He just slowly raised his paw.
Seeing this, Pot immediately backed away two meters. He definitely couldn’t afford to take this attack. So, his first reaction was to avoid it, instead of rushing to counter it.
As soon as he retreated, Lu Qiu, who was originally pressed under his paws, was exposed.
At this time, Lu Qiu was lying with a blank face on the pile of dead leaves, only covered with her underwear. Thus, her skin was in direct contact with the large and rough fallen leaves without any protection, making her feel extremely uncomfortable. So, without even looking at it, she knew clearly that there were many red marks on her body.
