Master Meow - Chapter 9 - The Stone Castle
Chapter 9: The Stone Castle
At the moment Wells arrived at the mansion, a black animal nearly seven meters tall ran out of the house gracefully.
“My Lord, you are back. Would you like to have your breakfast? It is ready now.”
The animal was a black panther named Ruth. He was the Earl of Wales’ steward. His eyes were a little yellowish light green, and there were conspicuous scars on his face, from his eyes through his nose to the corners of his mouth, and one ear was half missing.
When facing Wells, his attitude was unusually respectful and humble.
Wells let out a sigh and shook his back. Lu Qiu and the fish that had been on his back until now were just dumped. Fortunately, the black panther caught them in time.
“Take care of it.”
“My Lord, this… the new pet. Her condition is a bit bad,” the black panther said while leaning his nose on her body, sniffing her. “She is ill.”
He said that while gently touching Lu Qiu’s cheek. The forehead which was touched by the tip of his nose felt hot.
Since her crossing, Lu Qiu had been trembling from the cold. The temperature here was too low compared to the temperature on earth. She was stripped of her clothes, soaked in Pickley’s warm saliva, and was thrown directly into the biting cold river by Wells. Cold then hot then cold, again and again, under this kind of torture, if Lu Qiu was still not sick, how thick her skin could be?
“She’s burning hot.” Ruth raised her scarred weak arm. “Puppies are prone to infections after injury, and they will die quickly if they are not treated in time. If she dies, she will be the thirty-seventh pet that you had and died. Mr. London will laugh at you again.”
Ruth looked sad and sorry.
Wells entered the house in a stiff motion, and his unattractive look was even more fierce. He stared at Lu Qiu’s pale face that had turned ruddy. He stared at her for about two minutes.
“She is not a cub. You give her medicine and take care of her, don’t let her die.”
“She is an adult. But even for adults, if you do not take care of them, you won’t be able to cultivate feelings with your pet. Being sick is the easiest time to cultivate feelings. My Lord, have you forgotten that you and Mr. London have agreed to participate in a pet contest?”
After hearing him, Wells’ pair of eyes completely narrowed into a slit. A cold light was shot from inside and went straight to Lu Qiu as if to bore a hole in her body.
Ruth finished his words, raised his paw, and slightly blocked Wells’ sight.
“My Lord, what do you think?”
Wells unwillingly lifted his paws and snatched Lu Qiu from Ruth’s hand. He threw her again on his back and walked towards the house.
Only this time, his footsteps were less brisk, and he seemed somewhat reluctant.
Even after Lu Qiu was thrown by the serpent, she still remained conscious. However, her head became dizzy due to the lack of oxygen, all the lights and shadows flickered in front of her, and nothing could be seen clearly.
There was a smooth and soft feeling under her body, and she felt like she was lying on a soft cloud.
The wind blew across her cheeks, and the soft fur that was gently moving from time to time made her comfortable. She gradually felt sleepy and naturally fell asleep.
Her sleep wasn’t very good. She was half awake and half dreaming. Also, her eyelids were so heavy that she couldn’t wake up.
She vaguely felt that a huge pair of fluffy hands had pinched her mouth and poured something into it.
Mmm… It tastes a little sweet.
It was just that the strength of the hand got a bit too strong with the pinching, and it caused her face, mouth, and gums to hurt.
By the time Lu Qiu woke up, she was already starving.
Twenty-four hours had passed since she fell from the cliff. She fell asleep from noon and ate nothing ever since. Of course, she felt hungry and dizzy.
Lu Qiu’s forehead was still a little hot and her body was a little soft. She had no strength at all, and her condition was bad.
She rubbed her face and tried to sober herself up. She didn’t know if she was affected by the dream. She felt a little pain from her face. Her mouth seemed to have ulcers in it, her gums were a little swollen, and she even tasted blood which seemed to be a little sweet.
Lu Qiu looked up and looked around. She unexpectedly found herself in a stone house. The room was terribly wide that she failed to see the wall and roof at a glance.
She then realized that she was lying on a huge white fur bed which was up to two meters thick and at least three meters wide. It felt like rabbit fur, soft and warm.
The place had a bed and there were scratch marks all around. Lu Qiu’s eyes lit up once again, thinking that maybe the giant cat had an owner.
She could finally find someone to call for help.

Sorry, there was a mistake in this chapter before. The steward was introduced as Simon, but it was supposed to be Ruth. So, Wells only has a steward named Ruth from now on.
