Chapter 145: Deceiving Uncle Sheng (44)

A little while later, Ah Qi finally stopped not far away from her. Under the tree stood a spotted white horse. Besides the horse stood a young man dressed in purple, white, and blue cloth. A white and silver lock bell hung around his neck. When he looked up, the bell tinkled and Ah Qi flew over and began circling his head.

Shu Nuan stared at him for a long time. The corners of her mouth slightly tilted, and soon emerged two dimples. She gestured to him.

She held her little hand in a small circle and put it in front of her eyes like a magnifying glass. Her movement was very nimble.

The teenager looked at her indifferently.

Shu Nuan said, “Beiguo Kingdom is very dangerous. Please go.”

The young man kept looking at her and said nothing. His eyes were clear. When he looked straight at her, he resembled a wooden post in clear spring, lacking any ripples.

Shu Nuan walked up to him and sat down on a rock in a childish way. She waved her little feet and looked down at her shoes. After playing for a while, she sniffed and said, “There is a Master Ji from the Yulin Academy. He asked me some questions today, and then I was kidnapped. You showed up again… They just wanted to find a reason to suspect me.”

When she said this, her eyes still looked at the tip of her shoes quietly, as though there was not much fluctuation in her emotions.

She wasn’t stupid and could see through many things.

If the masked man really wanted to do something to her, he wouldn’t have tarried. He had been waiting. Finally, he’d wielded the dagger to frighten her and draw someone out.

At last, the young man spoke in a clear and straightforward voice. “Princess, let’s go.”

Shu Nuan looked up at him. She looked for a while, and then slowly lowered her head and shook it gently. “The Qing Kingdom is gone, and there are hidden evils in the Nan Chao Kingdom. Ah Niang has died in the Nan Chao Kingdom as well. I don’t want to have an accident. I want to live well.”

The young man opened his lips with a cold face. “Back to the Beiman.”

Shu Nuan looked at him and calmly disillusioned him. “Beiman has no strong leader. Sooner or later it will be won by the Beiguo Kingdom. I don’t want to experience another nation-level destruction.”

The young man suddenly turned around and mounted the horse. “Ah Qi, go.”

Shu Nuan didn’t stop him. She silently watched him mount the horse. Ah Qi wandered between her and the teenager, at a loss.

The teenager turned back and stared at her and said, “That man will not always be good to you, princess!”

Shu Nuan eyelashes moved slightly. She bit her small mouth and said, “I will be nice to him as long as he is nice to me.”

The young man got angrier. His clear eyes were sharp. “He’s not Ah’Che!”

He took on a tone as if he was enraged by an injustice.

Shu Nuan stared at him, unable to say something for a long while.

Finally, she bowed her head and said, “I know”

Shu Nuan stood up from the rock and looked up at the young man on the horse. “Xuan Jiu, do you remember the agreement we made when we were kids?”

Xuan Jiu turned around and the bell on his neck chimed.

“If you remember, leave.”

Xuan Jiu’s face was cold. “Ah Qi!”

Ah’Qi flapped its wings and returned to Xuan Jiu, hovering overhead. But it could not help and twist its head to look at Shu Nuan. The next moment, Xuan Jiu rode away.

Shu Nuan watched his back until he disappeared from sight.
