When I went into the courtyard that stood at the centre of the Royal Academy’s school, I felt an unpleasant boding. If I have to say what kind of unpleasant sign….. It came from the top-right direction.

I sensed the presence of someone hiding amongst the top branches of one of the trees in the courtyard, and presence was currently plunging from the right-side, above me.

Of course, it didn’t mean that I would just let that person come crashing down on me, I dodged right in the middle of that person’s fall.

Though a sorcerer can sense the presence of living beings, it isn’t possible without hardwork.

A normal student of this Royal Academy could just kept walking, without realising the danger ahead, and then crash with that person who’s plummeting…

「GEH! 」

That person fell right on the ground, screaming on top of their voice.

It was unexpected, or should I say different from normal since the fallen object didn’t show any sign of injury.

After falling from such a height, a normal person would’ve been injured. However, perhaps, because he took a defensive stance, the fall ended up with just some pain on that person’s face.

In other words…. It wasn’t a problem if I were to just abandon this person right here.

Thus, I walked past him as if nothing happened.

「O-Oi! WAIT RIGHT THERE! ARE YOU GOING TO IGNORE YOUR SERIOUSLY WOUNDED CLASSMATE! ? 」

He called out to me.

Though I could’ve completely forgotten this even if he hadn’t called out to me, now that he had, I couldn’t just ignore him.

The regulations in this academy were quite relaxed, encouraging students to interact with one another.

That’s why I couldn’t just ignore the person who had just called out to me. Since it couldn’t be helped, I turned around gave that stupid fallen object a reply.

「You said gravely wounded but…. I can’t seem to find that “Grave” part. If its located in a place that I can’t see, I advise you to visit the school infirmary. You should be able to find a capable healer stationed there, right? 」

Though it was an extremely logical train of thought, the said fallen object rebutted me.

「You… Aren’t you too cold-blooded here?! Even though I’ve been waiting up here for a long time when I heard that the transfer student will arrive today! 」

That was unexpected!

I pondered for a while, and then asked.

「Does that mean you….. have been waiting for me? But, I heard that other students and the lessons are on a break today…」

Afterall, I had heard about this matter from the headmaster himself!

Seven days… every week, every Darkness Day and Brightness day was a holiday, the students could spend these two days as they pleased.

Though I consider this concept interesting, since no other nations had ever used such unique concept from Helios Kingdom to name the days. Personally, I thought that the need to give two days of holiday out of seven days was just the right concept.

Since the other nations didn’t have this kind of concept, their concept of holiday was taking a break from work whenever they were exhausted. Also, there were those worse case when the people didn’t take a break at all!

It could perhaps be a nice solution to rid the fatigue that a worker unknowingly gathers by giving them a compulsory holiday.

Anyhow, today was Brightness Day.

Even though the other students were resting, this youth was….

Yes, this youth.

The thing that fell from the tree was a youth of small build, black hair and black pupils.

Though I had to agree that it was appropriate to call him my classmate, but looking at his features, I had a hard time in understanding the reason for him to especially wait for me.

Well, the youth did settle my curiosity..

「Today is a holiday indeed. But then, I am the one who has the most information in this academy! That’s why I intended on to getting firsthand information about the new transfer student who transferred half-year after the original entrance exam! And here I am, waiting to meet and having a pleasant conversation with you.」

True, I had been transferred to this academy long past the suitable time. That’s why I didn’t find it strange for someone to be curious about me.

And this youth had been waiting for me all along in this place…

「So you guessed that I’ll be passing by this place on this nice sunny day? 」

「Yup. This road is also the shortest and best connecting the dorm and the school building. Thus, the uneasy me asked that youth.
