Shu Ming pointed out directly that she would dissolve her engagement with Yin Xiyu, claiming that he wanted to marry Gu Yuanyuan instead. 

Shu Ran had to ask Gu Yuanyuan to pretend to be his girlfriend to make the old man happy. 

Shu’s mother, who was originally furious, didn’t respond much to Shu Ming’s dissolution of her engagement with Yin Xiyu. She only asked, “Does Gu Yuanyuan even like you?”
